Palm Cove Yoga Classes

 

Here at Hartig Yoga, we offer a variety of different styles of yoga, so you are sure to find a class that suits you! Read more about what to expect at our different classes below.

Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga is suitable for everybody. 

We move through Hatha Yoga postures slowly and mindfully, offering the chance to calm the nervous system and still the mind.

This class is suited to both complete beginners and more seasoned yogis. 

In this class you will gently build strength and flexibility in the body, whilst exploring different themes and intentions.

Expect to feel grounded, calm and centered after this class.

Treat yourself to a Gentle Yoga class on Monday mornings

8-9am and 9.30-10.30am at our beach yoga location.

Come to a Yin Yoga class on Monday evenings 6-7pm on Sarayi Rooftop, Palm Cove.

Yin Yoga

 

Yin Yoga is a bit different to the other styles of yoga that we offer.

In Yin Yoga, we are working more with the connective tissues- joints, ligaments, tendons and fascia, rather than the muscles.

We hold the poses for 3 minutes each (sometimes a little longer).  This extra time in the poses gives us a chance to really slow down and focus on the breath.

All postures are floor based (no active holds) and we can find deep release in the body and mind.

This is one of our most popular classes! In our busy lives, this is a class that will help to bring balance back into your system (we tend to spend most of the day in our ‘yang’ so we need to balance this out with some ‘yin’).

This class is suitable for everyone, even complete beginners. 

Expect to feel deeply relaxed and open after this class – and ready for a great nights sleep!

 

Hatha Flow 

Our Hatha Flow classes are beginner to intermediate level.   We offer more basic options for newbies and deeper poses for those that have been practicing longer.

In these yoga classes, you can expect to see a little bit of flow or movement between your Hatha Postures. We usually hold poses for 3-5 breaths and move through a sequence with an intention or theme in mind (whether it’s a focus on a part of the body, chakra, concept or quote)

This class will help to build both strength and flexibility in your body and help you to relax and calm the mind.

We always start with a short meditation and finish with a guided savasana/relaxation.

Expect to leave feeling like you have worked the body in a balanced way. Mentally you will feel grounded and relaxed.

Enjoy a Hatha Flow class at Palm Cove beach every Wednesday 7.30-8.40am and Thursday 8-9am.

Vinyasa Yoga Cairns

Join a Vinyasa Class Tuesdays 9.30-10.30, Fridays and Saturdays 7.30-8.40am

Vinyasa

 

This is a morning practice that you can add to your day that will have you glowing until the evening! Vinyasa means ‘movement with breath’, so we flow through different sequences in sync with our in and out breaths.

These classes are beginner-intermediate level, and you will always be encouraged to move at your own pace/rest when needed.

Movement with breath will be the main focus, but we will often have a theme to our classes, whether it be a chakra, one of the 5 elements or an area of the body to focus on (or whatever other inspiration the teacher feels to share)

We sometimes add breathing techniques and other exercises to uplift the energy and get you really present in your body.

Expect to feel leaving radiant and alive, with fresh energy buzzing through your cells!

 

 

 

Slow Flow 

Our Slow Flow classes are similar to our Hatha Flow classes (see above) but with less focus on building strength and stability and more relaxing into stretches.

These classes are perfect for you if you just want to relax, have a good stretch and start the day/move into the evening gently. (You won’t need to expend too much energy- in fact you will restore your energy!)

Enjoy a Slow Flow class at Palm Cove beach every Sunday 7.30-8.40am and Wednesday 6-7pm on Sarayi Rooftop.
