For those seeking tranquility, natural beauty, and holistic wellness, a yoga retreat in Nusa Lembongan is calling you! As a yoga teacher and yoga retreat facilitator at Hartig Yoga, my recent holiday to this idyllic destination left an indelible mark on my heart.  And has also unveiled a perfect venue for my future yoga retreats.

In this blog post, we delve into the allure of Nusa Lembongan and our two upcoming retreats here.  These retreats are set to unfold in June and August 2024.

Discovering our Yoga Retreat in Nusa Lembongan: A Sanctuary for the Soul

In a recent holiday in Indonesia, I found myself on Nusa Lembongan Island.  It’s a small island just a short ferry ride away from the bustling mainland of Bali.  Bali felt much too busy for us, especially as we were travelling with our 5 year old daughter.  We knew we had to escape the crowds and find a place with less traffic and pollution. And that we did! Stepping onto this enchanting island felt like entering a realm where time slows down.  So we spent 6 nights on this magical island, exploring and relaxing.  And after experiencing much of what Nusa Lembongan had to offer, I knew this was the perfect venue for a yoga retreat.

Retreat Oasis: A private and tropical haven

After exploring the island and all of it’s yoga studio spaces, I finally found the perfect location for a yoga retreat.  The chosen venue for our yoga retreats in Nusa Lembongan is a private garden paradise situated a mere 350 meters from Mushroom Bay.  Surrounded by tropical greenery, the venue boasts seven villas, a refreshing swimming pool, and a shaded yoga shala. The intimate setting, with a maximum of 12 participants, ensures a personalised and close-knit retreat experience.

June and August Retreats: A glimpse into the experience.

Because Nusa Lembongan has so much to offer, I’m beyond excited to take two groups there for yoga retreats in June and August this year.  Both of these retreats will offer the same 6/7 night option. You have the option to stay one extra night in Sanur before the retreat, in case your flight gets in late.  And each retreat and will have similar inclusions and actvities (which I will outline below).

Morning Bliss: Yoga, Breathwork and Meditation.

At the start of each day we will meet with our retreat guests for a morning yoga practice.  This practice will be expertly crafted to serve those that are on the retreat in the fullest possible way.  Using physical yoga practices (asana) and breath work (pranayama) we will open and balance the body, mind and energy system.  All ready for a beautiful day of exploring the island, or simply relaxing by the pool.

Evening Unwind Yin, Restorative Yoga and Meditation:

As the sun sets over the horizon, we all meet again in the yoga shala.  Evening sessions invite participants to unwind and rejuvenate. Yin and restorative yoga, complemented by the sounds of nature, provide a perfect balance to the invigorating morning practices. And our guided meditations deepen the connection with the self, allowing for introspection and a profound sense of relaxation. So whether our guests have been relaxing by the beach or pool, or out exploring, these sessions will soothe the senses ready for a peaceful nights sleep.

Exploration and adventure: experiences beyond the mat:

Whilst Nusa Lembongan is a perfect place to relax and reset, it also has an so much to see and explore.  I felt that it was very important to weave some of that into our yoga retreat too!  During the retreat we have scheduled a few (optional) activities for the group.  These include coastal walks along the cliffs, finding secluded beaches along the way! Also, a snorkelling excursion around neighbouring island. And finally, going to see Devil’s Tears – an epic cliff face. with crashing waves and epic views. But our days won’t be too action packed, as I recognise the importance of unscheduled rest time too.

Bali-blissed out: That post retreat glow.

As participants bid farewell to Nusa Lembongan, they will carry with them a state of Bali bliss in their hearts.  The amalgamation of yoga, breath work, and meditation against the canvas of this serene island induces a profound sense of peace. The retreat experience extends beyond the physical, leaving an imprint of well-being, inner peace, and a lasting connection with the self.
